About

Reading Tree Publishing creates books for KIDS WITH KIDS. We believe in creating opportunities to encourage imagination, fuel creativity, and inspire learning.

Imagine
The illustrations in our books spark interest while also leaving white space for you and your child’s imagination to flourish.

Engage
Each book contains activities that encourage further understanding and engagement with the story.

Connect
Learning subjects shouldn’t happen in a box. We learn through repetition and connection. Check out the extended activity books that go with each story.

Apply
Embracing curiosity and imagination are essential skills to develop; then, we want to help you learn how to apply your ideas and bring them to life. You’ll find a range of planners.

Ashley and Amber are educators with over two decades of experience. Ashley’s focus is physical education, and Amber’s is art education, emphasizing ideation and creative thought development. They also happen to be siblings, working on projects together for several decades. Some of their early projects include the longest paper chain and wrapping yarn around their childhood home to catch Santa.

Ashley started writing stories to incorporate into his elementary physical education classes and wanted a way to make them more than words on a page. After asking several times, Amber finally agreed to give illustrating a book a try ( her medium of choice is textiles). Amber incorporates the process of communicating through images into her teaching practice as an advanced placement studio art and art history teacher.

Giving Back
Access to books matters. Two hundred books are donated to local school districts each time Amber and Ashely publish a book together. They also offer school visits and other book-related events as they fit into their work schedules.
